Klaserie Kruger Safaris – Wildlife Adventure in a Private Nature Reserve

Klaserie Kruger safaris are run in the Greater Kruger National Park Klaserie Private Nature Reserve. Take part in game drives and walks leaving from 5-star luxury chalets or rondavels.

Klaserie Private Nature Reserve is on the western side of Kruger National Park. There are no fences between the two game reserves so Klaserie has the same variety of wildlife as in Kruger National Park.

Klaserie has three camps that you can stay at. All of them are close to the Klaserie River which runs through the middle of the 60,000 hectare (148,263 acre) reserve:

  • Nzumba Camp – set on an elevated area of the reserve. It has views of Mariepskop and Drakensberg mountains and overlooks a waterhole. Each chalet has its own private verandah where you can relax and watch wildlife drink from the waterhole.
  • Kitara Camp – on the banks of the Klaserie River. The camp has a bar, lounge and library and each of the chalets have private verandahs.
  • Nyeleti Camp – near the Klaserie River and has a fully equipped kitchen, braai (BBQ) area, outdoor seating and lounge.

There are a range of activities on offer at the Klaserie Private Nature Reserve. Choose from:

  • Game drives
  • Game walks
  • Game tracking
  • Star gazing
  • Bush dining
  • Birding
  • Botany

Getting to Klaserie Private Nature Reserve

To get to Klaserie Private Nature Reserve from Johannesburg, travel 355km (220 miles) to Hoedspruit. Then enter the park via Incheni Gate which is about 10km (6.2 miles) further. You have to pay an entrance fee here at the gate.

Once you’re inside Klaserie Private Nature Reserve, it’s about 45km (28 miles) to the camps. It will take over an hour to travel this distance though. Driving in game parks takes time because of all the animals you’ll stop to look at.

When you arrive, sit back, relax and enjoy your Klaserie safari!
