Grand Kruger Lodge – 4-Star Accommodation in a Bushland Setting

Grand Kruger Lodge is a retreat in Marloth Park. The park is a piece of land wedged into a bend in the Crocodile River. The river forms the southern boundary of Kruger National Park.

If you want to visit Kruger Park while you stay at the lodge, it’s very close by. In fact, you’ll be able to see it just across the river.

You won’t be able to go into Kruger from Marloth Park though because you need to enter the game park through one of its gates. The closest gate to the lodge is Crocodile Bridge Gate, 22km (14 miles) away. If you’re heading west, then Malelane Gate is 42km (26 miles) in that direction.

However, being in Marloth Park means that there are animals that come onto the lodge’s grounds. There isn’t the same variety of animals in Marloth Park as in Kruger Park, but there’s a good chance you’ll be able to spot wildlife from your accommodation.

Accommodation

BaboonSo, what is the accommodation like? If you stay there, it’ll be in well-appointed suites or chalet-style lodges, each with their own views over the surrounding bushland.

During your stay, you’ll be able to visit the lodge’s bar, boma (a place where you eat meals which has a central fire place) and swimming pool. Cooling off in the water is always a sought after activity on hot, humid, summer days.

Facilities

If you’re not just purely on holidays and you’re looking for conference facilities, the lodge can accommodate small to medium gatherings.

If you’re gathering is for something infinitely more romantic than a conference, the lodge can also host and fully cater for your wedding ceremony and reception.

Tours

During your stay, you’ll no doubt want to try a safari, to take advantage of how close you are to Kruger National Park.

If you’re not going to Kruger on your own, then the lodge offers a range of safari tours into the game reserve, including bush walks and day and night game drives.

Aside from Kruger Park, you could also try a tour that goes to:

  • A local village
  • Mozambique
  • Scenic Mpumalanga
  • Swaziland

Other activities available are:

  • Elephant safaris
  • Horse riding
  • Microlight flights

Whatever kind of holiday you’re looking to have, you won’t be short of things to do staying at the lodge!
